How many readers buy a new computer and struggle to get it set up?

And are you confident that you have it set up correctly?

Do you install your Antivirus software?

Do you get all the windows updates?

Do you defrag the hard disc.

Are you just glad it works even though you fumble through the set up process?

Are you struggling with any of the above questions?

How much would you pay someone to setup your new computer. A) hourly rate B) fixed charge

Computer setup is usually the easy part. And because stores like Best Buy and Circuit City want you're money SOO BADLY they'll give you the anti-virus and spyware software for a "nominal" fee. Once you pull you're brand new PC out of the box and prepare to deal with the joy of starting it up for the first time, it goes smoothly, except for people that haven't used computers much in their lives. Besides, my Dad wouldn't pay someone to setup his PC for him when he has his own personal "Geek Squad" living so close. So... Why pay for someone to fix you're PC when you have free 24 hr tech support not 20 mins away?

And if I did have to have someone setup a PC for me, I'd pay them back w/ a case of beer (so long as they where of age.)
