PC-PC voice calls not working...?

Error message- You can not place a call because messenger is not currently connected to the voice service. this is either you are behind a restrictive firewall or because we are fixing a problem with yahoo service...

Is there anyone from Dubai, UAE?

Coz most people are facing this problem. There is only one internet service provider in Dubai called ETISALAT and they have blocked Yahoo service because it is using VoIP protocol which is banned here in Dubai by Telecom Regulatory Authority of UAE..

But the thing is ,many people in dubai are using this service without any problem.

I also tried installing older versions of Yahoo Msngr but no Luck :(. I also cheked with my antivirus software and windows firewall setting, Can anybody suggest any good solution which can make my voice calls work? any help will be appreciated.

I'm not sure what it could be, but my guess is that the people at Yahoo are just working on it probably. A friend tried calling me too but they said it went to the message "not accepting calls right now" and went straight to the voice message. But the friend tried calling again the next day and it worked fine.

I know this isn't much help, but I wish you luck in finding out the problem. =) Have you asked any of your friends that can use it what they did different? Another thing you can try (I have no idea if it'll work) is to uninstall messenger, reboot your computer, shut down any firewall and antivirus programs, and reinstall the messenger. Could be that those programs might've blocked some drivers from being installed. But that's just a guess. Hope you can get it to work. Also, if you can't get Yahoo's calling feature to work, you could always use Skype. (of course, your friends will have to have it too though...)
